WHO ARE WE?
Kuersten Construction is a 10 year old, family owned, General Contractor located in the Town of Rifle, on the Western Slope of Colorado. We have a history specializing in heavy civil and concrete construction. Despite our historical focus on “dirt, pipe and concrete”, we have responded to both market and past customer demands by providing full general contracting services for complete turn-key building projects. A majority of our work is obtained through either negotiated and / or Design Build methods. We maintain a work-force of 50 – 70 employees which enables us to self perform approximately 1/3 of our G.C. work in-house. In addition, we perform earthwork and concrete services as a sub-contractor. The majority of our work is located in western Colorado.
HOW DO OTHERS SEE US?
While the company has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, we take pride in knowing employees on a first name basis and having an open door policy around the office. Every year with-in the community, the company is involved with local organizations (School Districts, Habitat for Humanity, Lift-up) through donating our resources and materials to various projects. Kuersten Construction was most recently awarded the “Business of the Month” for our involvement with the local school district and their construction of new playground being built at Rifle Middle School.
WHERE ARE WE GOING IN THE FUTURE?
With the current growth that western Colorado is experiencing, the majority of our work is with-in a 70 mile radius of Rifle, Colorado. The company offices are located in Rifle as well. We have some industrial work for the natural gas industry underway in Wyoming at this time. We expect this trend to continue as it is predicted that the I-70 corridor between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs will grow by over 100,000 people over the next 15 – 20 years.
WHO ARE OUR EMPLOYEES?
Kuersten Construction is made up of individuals who do not want to be lost in a large corporation and become pigeon holed into a single task job description. The entire management team wears multiple hats on a daily basis. By having employees with all levels of education and experience, new ideas are fostered and implemented. The management team is made up primarily of young individuals (most are under the age of 45) that have broad backgrounds working for large and small companies as well as Owner Operators. This experience gives the team a substantial experience and knowledge pool to draw upon when making decisions for the future of the organization. We value our personal lives and our free time.
